It is a country located in North-East Africa with the Sinai Peninsula in western Asia. Egypt borders with Israel and Palestine in the northeast, Sudan in the south and Libya in the west. In the north there is the Mediterranean Sea and in the east the Red Sea.
Almost 100 million people live in Egypt. It is almost entirely Arabic-speaking. The main religion in Egypt is Islam (90%). Christians are around 10%. In the Western Desert there are Berber tribes, in the valley of the upper Nile single settlements of the negroid population.
